After an eventful set of airline adventures and 50 hours in transit, I find myself in Brussels waiting flight 241 to Freetown, Sierra Leone. What’s unique about this second trip to West Africa is I have a bit of perspective and I return as a stakeholder. Two years ago, I sat on the aged tarmac in Freetown contemplating the bigger meaning of a week I’d just spent in West Africa. Leading a school building project for 200 village kids on behalf of Schools for Salone has required much trust and patience from several including SFS leader Cindy Nofziger, a women of great admiration for me. I’m excited to represent to 50+ contributors that said yes to bringing first access, basic education to Selehun.
